When I was a little girl my mother would make goulash often. My grandmother had an old Hungarian recipe that my mother loved to make. Every time I heard my mother mention goulash I would make a sour face. I don’t know why I didn’t like it as a kid. I was a pretty picky eater. Well, one day I ate the goulash when I was older and completely fell in love with the dish.
When I started my own family, I started making goulash myself. I got the same reaction from my kids that I gave my mother. Now I know that if they just really tried it that they would actually like it. So, I decided that I needed to take a look the recipe and see how I could make it more appealing to kids. I thought for a while and then I finally had a brilliant idea.
I decided that I would make this goulash into a recipe and through some cheese on top! Well, let me tell you this, it did not just turn out absolutely perfect, but it was a hit among my kids as well! This casserole is absolutely delicious and makes me feel a little nostalgic every time that I make it. I was so happy that my kids liked this casserole and actually request that I make!
