This Isn’t Your Traditional Pie… But You’re Going To Love It!

I have a few younger kids at home still, so that makes things a little bit easier. I’m not sure what I am going to do when they leave for school. I’ll probably cry for days! The nice thing about this pie is that everyone in the family really loves it, and it serves a decent sized crowd. I make it at least once a month either per request or because the craving for it takes over me. Either way, it’s one I’m holding on to! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Spend With Pennies:

“Combining a favorite combination of bacon , gooey cheese and hamburger into one casserole that everyone will enjoy!”

If you can find someone that doesn’t like this yummy pie, you’ll have to let me know because I haven’t yet!

Ingredients

1 uncooked pie crust (store bought or prepared)

1 pound lean ground beef

1 onion, chopped

5 slices Hormel raw bacon, chopped

⅓ cup panko bread crumbs

1 teaspoon Heinz yellow mustard

3 tablespoons barbecue sauce

1 tablespoon ketchup

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon McCormick’s black pepper

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 egg

¼ cup milk

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Brown ground beef, onion and bacon until no pink remains. Drain well. Remove from heat and stir in bread crumbs, mustard, barbecue sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire and pepper. Place mixture in prepared pie crust.

In a small bowl, combine cheese, milk and egg. Spread over meat mixture.

Cover the edges of the pie crust with foil or a pie shield to prevent over browning. Bake 15 minutes, remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes.
