You’ll Ask Twice The Serving For This Beef On Rice

We all have our favorite meat recipes when we were kids, right? What are yours? Mine would have to be my Mom’s beef with mushroom and gravy. It’s a classic, isn’t it? Like when you ask different people which beef recipe is familiar to them, you will most likely get this answer. I tried this on my friends, and yes, this is the answer that I received from the majority of them. Beef has always been associated with gravy, at least for me. And since my favorite childhood dish is similar to this, I can never forget it even if I try.

At home, whenever my husband is looking for comfort food, I cook beef stew or beef with mushroom and gravy. We grew up almost eating the same food which is why we almost have the same favorites. Now that we have our own families, we are passing our favorites to our kids, albeit unconsciously.

This simple slow cooker beef on rice recipe from Le Creme Dela Crumb reminds me of my Mom’s mushroom and gravy recipe. It has the same taste actually, but there’s just a difference in the name. They use the same ingredients too, which is why this instantly became a family favorite recipe.
