I love Italian food. I mean, really, what’s not to like? A big plate of carbs in the form of pasta (delicious right from the get go!), covered in a cheesy gooey sauce, and then topped with some form of meat whether it is parmesan crusted chicken, or meatballs that ooze out melted mozzarella when you are bite into them. Could anything be better than that? Well, my friends, I did not think so either.
That is, until I discovered this crispy, cheesy and fried little appetizer that is a world changer. I never really serve appetizers when I plan to serve an Italian meal. Why, you ask? Well, because the meal is already so hearty and filling that I fear if I serve too many appetizers, people will not eat my dinner that I so lovingly prepared.
But, as of yesterday, I think I will always be serving this appetizer with my Italian homemade meals. Sure it is a little extra hassle and a more time consuming than just skipping it altogether, but it is just so absolutely delicious, it is worth going through the trouble for it. Everyone will adore you for putting this one together, that is for sure!
