Sinful, Heavenly, Healthy—Now That’s A Triple Threat Chocolate Zucchini Cake!

In my family (this includes my relatives), chocolate cake is probably the cake recipe that has the most versions. Each family, from my aunts and uncles down to my cousins, has their own version of chocolate cake. They all adapted the basic chocolate cake recipe of my grandmother, but they all modified a few of the ingredients to suit their tastes. My favorite will always be my Mom’s of course because she didn’t change a lot from the recipe.

Some of my aunts added fruits to their chocolate cake recipes, which still tasted good. The fruits added that fresh taste that you wouldn’t find in simple chocolate cake recipes. My uncles added liqueur to their versions; and they’re the only ones who seemed to love those.

One version that I like other than my Mom’s is my Aunt Barbara’s. She added zucchini to her chocolate cake and it really tasted great. I was speechless when I first tasted it.

This triple chocolate zucchini cake reminds me of my Aunt Barbara’s cake version. They are both chocolaty and decadent; and you couldn’t even taste the zucchini. It’s a must-try for every mom who wants to incorporate something healthy to her family’s diet.
