Today I am planning to make this recipe yet again. I had made it long ago and loved it, but totally forgot it existed until it popped up on my Pinterest feed again. I knew I had to try it again so I did and fell in love all over again. I mean, it is so simple! Just boil pasta, make this super quick and simple sauce and add chopped sausages from cans. I know, it is not the healthiest but it certainly is tasty and convenient. Don’t knock it until you try it!
Check out what our friends over at Melanie Cooks had to say about this:
“Once you try it, you’ll never make pasta any other way! This mouthwatering sausage pasta is ready in 20 minutes from start to finish, and you’ll have only one pot to clean – genius!”
That is true! It is so easy and so good, it is the only one I want to make now!
Ingredients
1 lb Barilla spaghetti
1 package (14 oz) cooked Italian sausage
1 can (28 oz) Heinz crushed tomatoes
3 cups water
1 large onion
5 cloves garlic
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
1 cup grated Kraft Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Put water and tomato sauce in a pot and mix to combine.
Slice the onion into thin slices and put it in a pot.
Slice the sausage into thin slices and put it in a pot.
Slice garlic and add to the pot.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper and oregano.
Add spaghetti to the pot (it’s OK if it sticks out).
Put the pot on the stove and bring to boil.
With the spatula, push down on the spaghetti until it sinks into the liquid.
Reduce the heat to simmer and cook, stirring every 2 minutes, until the pasta is cooked and the sauce is reduced (about 10 minutes).
Remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
