One-Pot Pantry Pasta And How Sheila Was Able To Survive

Just because I have a lot of stories about friends who knew their way into the kitchen doesn’t mean I don’t have those that do not. I’m a normal woman with normal sets of friends. I just love sticking to those who knew how to cook so they can feed me all the time. I’m kidding, of course! But really, I have a lot of friends who can’t even cook the simplest scrambled eggs, let alone much more complicated dishes? Sheila was one of those. Was.

Sheila grew up in a house, well, a huge house where she never had to learn to do things herself. Yes, she’s quite the rich kid so she truly didn’t have to cook to survive. Even if her parents stopped working, they would still be able to live the luxurious life. However, in college, she was accepted at an overseas school and had to live on her own for a while. When she came back, she was a changed woman. She had to learn to be really independent. She would starve and she wouldn’t be able to go anywhere. And then she told us how she lived off of a one-pot pasta dish for a week just because it was the simplest she could do. One of her dorm mates taught her how to make one that tasted really yummy despite the lack of proper ingredients. And almost every week, she made it for herself until she finally came up with her own version. This recipe that I found reminded me of Sheila and how something similar to this had helped her survived a temporary life she didn’t expect to have.
