7 Ground Beef Casseroles That’ll Make You Moo – Check Out Number 3, It’s My Favorite!

If you like hamburger and cheese you will really enjoy this yummy casserole! It’s like eating a pizza burger in baking dish form.

Check out what our pals over at Group Recipes had to say about this delightful recipe:

This is a lot like pizza. My mother-in-law gave this recipe to me when I first married my husband. (13 years ago) She told me this was his favorite as a kid and he always asked for it when he came home to see her. I have made a few changes, but it is still pretty much the same recipe she gave me. My kids love this as well, and it is now a favorite for my own family!

My kids love this yummy hamburger casserole and I’m pretty sure yours will, too.

Ingredients

1lb. hamburger (I actually will make more than 1 pound, because my husband likes it with extra hamburger!)

¼ onion, chopped

1 can Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits

1 can Hunt’s tomato sauce

1 can Pennsylvania Dutch sliced mushrooms

1 can Hunt’s diced tomatoes

Pearl diced black olives

Kraft shredded cheese

Instructions

In large skillet, cook hamburger and onions until hamburger is no longer pink. Set aside.

In a baking dish, press biscuits into bottom of dish, forming the bottom crust.

Spread tomato sauce over biscuits. Spread hamburger, mushrooms, black olives and tomatoes over tomato sauce then sprinkle with cheese.

Bake at temperature shown on biscuit can. Bake for 5-10 minutes longer than biscuit can says, or until biscuits are cooked through. (be careful not to burn bottom of biscuits!)

Serve.

Note: Pepperoni, Canadian bacon or sausage can be substituted for the hamburger!

Quick Tip: It might sound a little weird but I love eating this casserole with ketchup on top.

Thank you to Group Recipes for this great dinner idea.

So excited to see new casserole recipes. So bummed when EVERY SINGLE ONE had tomatoes (sauce, soup) in them – no can do tomatoes!

tried this for the first time tonight and used pizza sauce instead of tomato sauce. had hamburger with onions, pepperoni, black olives and mozzarella cheeses and it was amazing. like a deep dish pizza

This has no seasonings in it!! How can it be like pizza?? Hamburger and Tomatoes on Biscuits!! Not worth trying in my book!! My mother-in-lay taught me how to make a spaghetti pizza on a tight budget 40 years ago. Is still a family favorite!! Kids love pizza and spaghetti!! I do use package pizza crust now, instead of making it from scratch. Yours would be good and simple with some basil, oregano, garlic powder, garlic salt and Italian seasonings!! Try it!! Simple dish bumped up!!
