At all of our family gatherings throughout the year and during summer BBQs, Grandma would always request that we have baked beans. It was easy enough. Open a can, dump them in a pan and warm them up. No problem, right? Well, there was kind of a problem. Grandma was the only one that ever ate them. We always ended up with a pan of baked beans at the end of the day that nobody wanted. Grandma would take a small dish of leftovers with her, but it didn’t even put a dent in it.
So, I took to the wonderful internet to try and see what I could do about our little problem. I wanted to give Grams the beans that she asked for, but I didn’t want to deal with all the leftovers. When I saw this recipe on BigOven, I just had to give it a try. It sounded pretty darn tasty, and I usually skip the baked beans.
I made these just for the family at home first, to see how they would go over. The pan was emptied right out! We started with a small portion each to see if we liked them, and every single person at the table went back for seconds. That was the first time ever I had wished we had more beans!
