Eating Texas Chili will rev up your metabolism and get your heart pumping! All of those delicious spices are so good for you!
Texas chili is one of those staple foods that we northern folks tend to eat a lot of, especially when it’s cold. I grew up in mid-Michigan so it’s always cold haha! Anyway, this Texas chili makes a lovely Crock Pot meal. All you do is dump all the ingredients into the pot and voila! You have a piping hot supper simmering away for later. Plus, this recipe feeds a small crowd so there is plenty to go around the dinner table.
Now, I know what you are thinking, “turkey chili? Yuck!” but please just hear me out. I, too, was concerned about a Texas chili containing ground turkey instead of beef but guess what, you can’t even tell the difference! The spices and other flavorings give the ground turkey a wonderfully robust flavor. Plus, turkey is healthier than ground beef and contains less fat. Imagine that!

Quick Tip: Sometimes, I’ll use a few spritzes of olive oil to coat my slow cooker. This keeps the food from sticking.
