You can get French onion soup in a can these days but I guarantee it doesn’t come close to this homemade recipe!

I had my doubts about this, especially since I’ve never really been that big of a fan of onions. But when my husband begged me to make this soup for him, of course I wanted to have a taste, too. I was actually pretty shocked to realize it was one of the most delicious dishes I’ve ever tasted!

The way the onions are caramelized makes them super scrumptious, and there isn’t the slightest bit of bitterness left in the soup itself. I also cringed a little when I saw there was sherry on the list of ingredients since I really dislike it! But I went ahead and added it, anyway, and the end result was mind-blowing.
