Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake – Easy As A Sunday Morning

My mother is a fantastic baker. Which was always great as a kid because she would bake yummy foods all of the time!

I was usually in the kitchen by her side, ready to lick a spoon. I was good helper like that! Everyone was always excited to see what delectable dessert she would bring to the church potluck. She never disappointed anyone either. I swear that woman could have written the best dessert cook book ever!

My personal favorite cake that she would make was a delicious oatmeal cake. We used to have oatmeal all of the time in the morning for breakfast. When my mother would make a particularly large pot of oatmeal I knew exactly what that meant – oatmeal cake would be waiting for me when I got home! This cake was really special. It tasted delicious and it was the first cake that my mother taught me how to make.

I learned how to make this cake from my mom and then I got the opportunity to show my daughter how to make this yummy cake. She loves it too. I guess it runs in the family!

If you have never made an oatmeal cake before I suggest you try this recipe. It is absolutely delicious. You will love every bite and will only want to make it again so that you can share it with everyone!
