I Know What We’re Having For Breakfast This Weekend!

Every weekend, all year long, it feels like either we aren’t home, or if we are, we have to jump up and head out somewhere right away. There aren’t those mornings anymore where we get up and just hang out on the couch until noon. I would feel as though we were falling way behind if I wasted that much time really. There’s always so much that needs to be done. My husband has the same mindset as I do. He’s usually up and working on something as soon as breakfast is over with.

One day when I was cleaning up the cereal bowls, it struck me that we could have one of those days again, we just had to make it happen. So, the following weekend, I told everyone to plan on doing nothing. My kids looked at me like I had lost it. They knew that wasn’t how I operated.

I planned to make these tasty French toast sticks that I had seen on NeighborFood and that’s all the work I was doing for that day. It seemed like the longest week in history waiting for that Saturday to come, but when it did, it was so well worth the wait.
