Restaurant-Style Smashed Potatoes: A Quick Dish Loaded With Flavor

A few of our guests asked me where I ordered the food from, because it all looked so nice and homemade. “That’s because it is.” They were impressed to say the least. I think I had at least five people ask me for the recipe for the potatoes, including my sister. She wanted to use them at her daughters graduation party that was coming up in the following week. They were just as yummy when she made them, too! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at The Pioneer Woman:

“I am making these for dinner tonight! =]”

Tonight? I make them a few times a week at least!

Ingredients

5 whole Large Red Potatoes

1 stick Land O’ Lakes Butter, Softened And Cut Into Pieces

5 slices Hormel Bacon, Cooked And Crumbled

2 whole Green Onions, Sliced

3/4 cups Daisy Sour Cream

Salt To Taste (add Plenty!)

Freshly Ground Black Pepper To Taste (ditto!)

3/4 cups French Fried Onions, More For Topping

Instructions

Nuke potatoes or bake in the oven until fork-tender. Add to a large bowl and smash with a potato masher. Immediately add softened butter, green onions, bacon, and sour cream and stir with a rubber spatula. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add french fried onions and fold in.

Serve hot, sprinkling on extra french fried onions and green onions. Yummy with grilled steak or chicken!

Quick Tip: You can leave out the green onion and bacon if you don’t have any on hand.
