Homemade Honey Bun Cake… Yum!

My grand kids were coming to visit me for the first time since they all left for college. They grew up right down the street from me, so I was used to seeing them just about every day. When they left, boy did I miss them. The house just seemed way too quiet without them around. I could hardly even stand it. So, to surprise them when they got in, I wanted to make them one of Grandma’s famous homemade desserts.

I knew that they had to be missing that just about as much as they were missing me. I found a recipe for honey bun cake on Dinner, then Dessert, and I knew it was going to be right up their alley. They loved all those little snack cakes growing up.

What could be better than a great big snack cake? It smelled wonderful cooking and I pulled it out of the oven just as they arrived. They all sat down and hung out for hours just talking and snacking away.

I don’t think they left a crumb in the pan when they left. It was the best visit that I had with them in so long, I can’t wait for them to come back!
