You’ll Never Guess What The Secret Ingredient Is In This Cheesy Casserole!

Mac and cheese.  Ah, gone are the good ol’ days of enjoying a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese for dinner.  Not only is it a bit unhealthy, but really, my palate has changed.

I no longer crave a box of powdered cheese over my mac (although, if I had to be honest, every now and then, I do wish for it).  I really love getting my mac and cheese on, though, and am always searching for a new and improved, yet tried and true recipe to go with when I get that big craving for hearty comfort food. Well, my friends, I have found a recipe that I think will please you immensely.

This is full of creamy cheese, almost as thick as a custard.  I mean, how amazing is that? It also has fat macaroni that is perfectly cooked and nicely baked in a casserole dish that keeps it warm and gives it a nice little crust on the edges.

If you want to take it a step further, dust it with Panko bread crumbs and a little chunks of butter before popping in it the oven. It is amazing what that little detail alone does to this dish!
