Take A Trip Back To Lunch Lady Land With These Chewy Brownies

Chocolate is my love language.  Yep, all I need to fall in love all over again with my husband is for him to bring me some chocolate home. Skip the flowers or presents, chocolate is cheap and the way to my heart.  Well, these are the perfect treat to give to anyone who’s love language is just like mine.  Give these as a special treat to anyone who you love to shower with love and affection and you will have gotten yourself a special Valentine!

Check out what our friends over at Life in the Lofthouse had to say about these:

“These brownies are simply incredible. Fudgy, chewy and totally amazing. Apparently, it’s an old classic recipe from the sweet ladies who served our lunches in Elementary school.”

This is the exact recipe from those lunch ladies who served years ago! That is amazing and you will see why once you try these at home!

Ingredients

1 cup Land O’ Lakes butter, melted

1/2 cup unsweetened Hershey’s cocoa powder

2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour

2 cups Domino granulated sugar

4 large eggs

4 teaspoons McCormick vanilla extract

CHOCOLATE FROSTING

1/4 cup Land O’ Lakes butter, softened

1/4 cup McArthur milk ( I use 2%)

1/4 cup unsweetened Hershey’s cocoa powder

3 cups Domino powdered sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with foil and spray foil with non-stick spray. Set aside.

In the bowl of an electric stand-mixer, add the melted butter and cocoa powder. Using the paddle attachment, blend until smooth.

Add the flour and sugar. Beat together then add eggs and vanilla. Mix just until combined. Don’t over mix. (Batter will be thick)

Pour batter into prepared baking dish and spread out evenly. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove brownies from oven and let stand 15 minutes before frosting. You want the brownies still warm when you frost them!

FOR CHOCOLATE FROSTING: Beat together all the frosting ingredients until smooth. Pour and spread over warm brownies. Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
