I Bet You Have Not Tried Burritos This Way

Chipotle is a thing of the past, friends! This dish has all those amazing flavors and can be made even better than that burrito you love because you can completely customize it however you’d like!

Check out what my friends over at Written Reality had to say about this recipe,

“This burrito version is a favorite because it blends all the wonderful flavors of what Tex Mex tastes like, with plenty of tortilla and loaded with cheese.”

I so agree! This will be your kids new favorite dish because it is full of chips and cheese. And I mean, what kid (or let’s be honest, adult) doesn’t love chips and cheese?

Ingredients

1 pound of ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

1 pack of Del Paso taco seasoning

1 can Del Paso refried beans

1 can Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup, undiluted

1/2 cup Daisy sour cream

1 pack large flour tortillas

2 1/2 cups of shredded Kraft Mexican blend cheese

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is no longer pink and drain.

Add the taco seasoning and refried beans and heat through.

In a separate bowl, blend the mushroom soup with the sour cream. Then spread half of the soup mixture in the bottom of a baking dish.

Add a layer of 3 flour tortillas to the top of the soup mixture. You will need to cut or tear the tortillas and overlap them.

Spread on a layer of the ground beef mixture and top with about a cup of cheese.

Repeat all of these layers and top with the remaining cheese. Bake in a 9 x 13 baking dish for about 20 minutes until cheese is nicely melted. Enjoy!

I was confused also and I am an OLD cook. I gather that you repeat layers. starting with the soup Maybe a 1/4 of it and so on, and repeat layers again and end up with the cheese. [Soup, Tortilla, Hamburger, cheese.]
I think just do your thing, and it will taste good. I was mixed up also. I may even add a 1/2 c. of mayo to the soup mixture. I have a Chicken Divan which has this mixture.. It is one of my favorite. I am alone so I make a batch and freeze in plastic Ziploc container Label them! Taste even better when rewarmed.
