I can’t get over how easy these yummy Amish onion patties are to make. They are crisp, flavorful, and very tasty.
Let’s take a peek at what the folks over at Group Recipes have to say about it:
My son loves onion rings could eat them every day if we let him this is just as good in taste and takes much less time to cook with a lot less mess.
My family enjoys eating onion rings, too, especially beer-battered ones. These Amish onion patties taste a lot like them. Yum!
3/4 cup Gold Medal flour
1 tablespoon Domino sugar
1 tablespoon cornmeal
2 teaspoons Clabber Girl baking powder
2 teaspoons Morton salt ( adjust the salt to your family’s taste I only use 1 teaspoon)
3/4 cup TruMoo milk
2 and 1/2 cups chopped onions about 2 small onions
Wesson oil for frying
Mix together dry ingredients
add milk and stir
batter will be thick
add onions and mix throughly
heat 1/2 inch oil in skillet over medium high heat
drop batter by tablespoons in hot oil
brown on both sides until nice and crisp
drain on paper towels
as my son puts it now gobble them up

Quick Tip: I like to serve these Amish onion patties with a variety of dippers like ranch, BBQ sauce, and Thousand Island dressing.
