There’s not much better than a steaming bowl of oatmeal to start your day. It fuels me to get through work, school, and my afternoon workout with ease. Though this takes longer it’s a more satisfying taste and texture with the steel cut oats. I don’t even find myself hungry between breakfast and lunch like I usually do which is great. Otherwise, I find myself munching on unhealthy snacks or vending machine goodies.
It also makes me feel great to send my family off to work and school completely satisfied. You know that this is brain food with the nuts and fruit and hearty grains. With this recipe, I took the ingredients with a grain of salt – that is I added them sparingly to get the best-finished taste as I love light flavors, personally. It’s kind of fun to set all the toppings out on the table and let everyone add them as they please. I already know what my kids like so I make theirs up while they get ready for school. Anyway you spin it, this is the perfect morning!
