Choose your favorite baked beans for this delicious budget meal, and double the ingredients if you want to save yourself from cooking the next day! I always like to turn the leftovers into a tasty breakfast the following morning – yummee!
Serve frank and beans with corn bread – or try something different like mashed potatoes or even rice. You wouldn’t believe what a perfect match they are! If you want to use dried beans instead of baked ones, just adjust the cooking time and be sure to check on the dish every now and then.
- 1 can baked beans (any variety)
- 1 package beef or pork hot dogs, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- To taste salt and pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Pour can of beans into crock pot, stir in hot dog pieces.
Stir in the remaining ingredients, season to taste.
Cook in slow cooker on high for 2 hours — or on low for 4 hours.
Quick Tip: Spice it up with more red pepper flakes and adding a touch of your favorite hot sauce!
