I sincerely love mushrooms. I can eat mushrooms any way. Raw from the store, straight out of a cake, cooked and eaten by themselves, etc. I mean really the list goes on with the different ways that I could eat some really yummy mushrooms. I do know that not everyone likes mushrooms. It’s like you either love them or are completely grossed out by them.
I have a friend that is so repulsed by mushrooms that she refuses to eat anything that has a hint of mushroom in it. I have tried over the years to get her to try mushrooms dishes and she just would not budge. She said that the texture was weird to her. I have heard that before.
However, that all changed one day when I was making this chicken marsala recipe, which I love. She came over to my house and smelt the food I was cooking. She asked what it was and I told her. She had said she had never tried that before. So, I gave her a big spoonful, with little hidden mushrooms and a spoonful of rice. She ate the both and loved it! When I told her what was in it she did not believe me. But get this! She ate a whole bowl full because she loved it so much!
