Crock Pot Pineapple Ham – One Of Life’s Little Pleasures

Every time a holiday rolls around, we decide whose turn it is to host.

We take turns among the six grandkids of my Grandma’s that all have their own homes. It’s just easier that way. We don’t want Grandma and Grandpa, or our parents, getting stuck doing all the work. Now that we have kids of our own, it’s our turn to take over. The person who is hosting usually provides the main entree, and everyone else brings in a side dish.

It works really well this way, and it has for many years. Last Easter, it was my turn to have the family over. That meant, I had to cook the ham. It was an unusually warm Easter, and I was worried about having the ham in the oven for hours. It was going to make our house so hot.

I started thinking of other options when I decided I would slow cook it. It was just like this recipe on Group Recipes. It turned out so moist, sweet, and delicious, and I never had to turn the oven on once. Everyone stayed comfortable and raved about the ham that year. Now, I suggest it to my other family members when it’s their turn to cook the ham!
