Country Swiss Steak With Creamy Tomato Sauce – It’s Mouthwatering

Mom was always a master of creating something unique and delicious out of what ingredients we already had in the kitchen.

She would have specific recipes that required certain ingredients, but there would always be leftovers of this and that, and she never let anything go to waste. In fact, that’s how she came up with the recipe for Swiss steaks that she used to use all the time. It was very much like this one from the web.

With a dash of this and a splash of that, she had created a brand new dish for us to enjoy. Mom was never big on measuring, and that’s one of the cooking traits that I have picked up as well. As long as you get fairly close, you can rest assured that your cooking dish will turn out okay.

I love making these traditional Swiss steaks for my husband. He thinks it’s a real special treat that I am making. In reality, I’m using up a bunch of spices and other ingredients we already have on hand. It’s a win for us both.

Quick Tip: You can omit the red wine and use more beef broth or water instead.
