Well I’ll Be… This Isn’t Your Everyday Pie!

Wowza! Have you tried this yet? It’s delicious!

I was always a bit weird growing up when it came to eating food at other people’s houses. If it was like my Aunt or Grandparent’s place, sure no problem. Friend’s houses that I didn’t know very well though….ehhh. I would usually just nibble on some bread or whatever was around that looked store bought. I’m not sure why, I was just terrified of other people’s home cooking. That lasted up until I was about 15 or 16 years old.

My boyfriend invited me over to dinner at his Aunt’s house, and I wanted to be with him, so I agreed to go. He wasn’t aware of my strange issue, so when she served up Shepherd’s Pie like this recipe from Relative Taste, I had no choice. I had to take a bite.

That was the moment I knew that I had to stop being so darn picky. That stuff was amazing. My mom never made anything like that. I told her the next time she was making it I wanted to come back and see how it was done!
