My daughter had spent the night at a friend’s house, and they had just spent the entire day shopping together. She called me and told me that she was ready to come home, so I headed over there to pick her up. When I got there, she came out to the car with nothing in her hands. I thought, here we go, she’s going to want to stay again. Actually, that’s not what happened at all. She told me that I simply had to come inside because her friend’s mom wanted to talk to me about something. Well, okay, I can do that.
I climbed out of the car and headed inside. As soon as I hit the front door the amazing aroma of lemon hit my nose. I was drawn to it like something that I had never inhaled before. I headed straight for the kitchen.
That’s where her mom was pulling out a fresh loaf of this lemon poppy seed bread just like the recipe on The Seasoned Mom. I just sat there starring. I’m almost certain that my mouth was hanging open, because she asked me if I wanted some.
