It took me most of my childhood to understand the appeal of meatloaf. I just didn’t get it. Not only did my mom make it all the time, she absolutely loved the stuff. Her and my dad would always rave about how tasty the meatloaf was. I was just like, really? It’s meatloaf… it’s terrible. As I got older though, I developed a taste for the meal. I would even ask Mom on purpose to make it once in a while. I knew it was more than just meatloaf. It was mashed potatoes and gravy, a yummy vegetable, the whole nine yards.
Now that I have kids of my own, I’m kind of in the same spot with them. They don’t understand the appeal of the hunk of meat in a tin pan. Or they didn’t anyways until they tasted this recipe from My Recipes. Wowzers! It was so melt in your mouth tasty, I asked if we could have the leftovers.
The man hosting the even that we were at last time actually did bring me a box, and I did gobble up every single piece eventually!
