You’re Going To Go Bananas For This Bread!

My Aunt Jean was the best baker. She ought have been though, she worked in a bakery for nearly 45 years. She started as a teenager and learned everything there was to know about baking. Most people don’t like to take their work home with them, but she didn’t mind, and neither did we! Whenever she had an abundance of sweet goods, she would always stop by our house on the way home and share with us what she had. There was always something different, but it was so yummy.

One thing that I loved, but we didn’t get very often was the banana bread. She would make it in big batches when they had bananas that got overripe, but it didn’t sell very well…I have no idea why because it was incredible! It was a lot like this recipe from All Recipes.

Now that Aunt Jean doesn’t work there anymore, I have to make my own bread. This is a simple recipe with a little bit of extra flare with the ginger. It’s one of our family favorites.
