When it comes to soups, stews, chili, and pasta, my Grandma was the master. I could never get the technique down that she had to make each one of these things absolutely perfectly. I have tried and tried, but continue to fail. When we would go to her place after school, there was almost always something going on the stove or in the oven. When she made her cheesy chowder, I knew I was staying for dinner. That was my favorite meal that she made. It was so thick and creamy and just… delicious!
I have made several attempts at recreating it over the years, only to come up disappointed. I have tried tons of recipes that I have found, but when I used the one from Julie’s Eats & Treats, I finally succeeded. I couldn’t believe it was true, but I had finally discovered the recipe.
It was just me and my husband at home that got to enjoy this special meal, and he loved it just as much as I did. Now he knows what I have been talking about all these years!
