There is a restaurant in the town nearby where I live that is known as a huge tourist town. One of the things that draws people in is the amazing food that they have there. It’s old traditional dishes in a lot of the restaurants, and people love it. I didn’t eat there until I was in my twenties, just because it wasn’t a place that my parents were interested in going. A group of my college friends and I all got together one day and headed that way though. They couldn’t believe that I had never been there to eat before.
So, they took me to one of the most popular establishments, and I had absolutely no idea what I was going to order. They suggested the homemade chicken and noodles, just to be safe. That’s what I got, and holy smokes! That was the most incredible chicken flavored noodle I’d ever had in my life!
I couldn’t wait to get home and tell my mom all about it. She said, “I bet we can make that right here at home, and probably even better.” Challenge accepted! We looked for a good recipe and found this one on The Pioneer Woman. It looked identical to the one that I had eaten, so that’s what we made. Pretty darn close… pretty close.
