We were hosting a baby shower at our house recently for one of our granddaughters. She was having the first baby in her generation! It was very exciting, our first great-grandchild. She didn’t want anything big and fancy, just a small gathering with our family and a couple of her very close friends. I suggested maybe doing a brunch for the guests because it would be cheaper and it would open up a whole new selection of food items. She thought that was a great idea, so I started the planning process.
I knew that I would make a couple of casseroles and some nice home style potatoes, but I wanted something a little bit more. I thought of sausage links, but then I came across this recipe for sausage balls on All Recipes. I couldn’t believe how tasty and perfect they sounded for the event.
The thing that really sealed the deal was the fact that only three ingredients were needed to make them! I made up a nice big batch, I think with four pounds of meat, and tossed them in a slow cooker when they were done. They were a huge hit. The pan was emptied out by the end of the party.
