When my older sister got married for the second time, she didn’t want to have a big fancy party. In fact, she didn’t want to have a party at all. I told her that was nonsense, she needed to celebrate finally finding the love of her life. I told her I was throwing her the party and that was final. She agreed in the end, but made me promise that I wouldn’t go crazy with it. I made that promise. I only invited about 30 of their family and friends, and made up a very simple menu.
There were just going to be appetizers served, and we were going to have the event in our giant barn in the back yard. That would keep the costs minimal and the occasion intimate.
One of the foods I decided to make were these meatloaf cupcakes that I saw on All Recipes. They looked so simple to make, and I knew that by increasing the recipe I could easily provide them for a larger group. They were a huge hit at the party, and they were very filling so people didn’t even complain about there not being a traditional dinner.
My sister and her new husband looked so happy that day. I was glad that I could provide her with a special day.
