We were living in the same neighborhood for about ten years when a new young couple moved in. The woman was obviously pregnant as we could tell when we went to go introduce ourselves. I asked her when she was due and she said that at anytime she could go into labor. How exciting! My baby is three years old so having an itty bitty baby around was a thing of the distant past. After about two weeks, the husband came and said they were on the way to the hospital, and asked if we could keep an eye on the house.
Not a problem! As I was sitting there thinking about their arrival home, I decided that I should make something to welcome them back. I remembered the recipe for chocolate pie that I had, just like this one from All Recipes, and decided to toss it together. It was chilling in the fridge when I saw them pull in.
I ran over and delivered it to them, and took a quick peek at the new life they brought home. I left very quickly so that they could enjoy some piece and quiet, and some yummy chocolate pie.
They came over a couple of days later with their new baby and thanked me, and asked for the recipe. I told them I would gladly share it, after they let me hold that baby!
