Go Wild Over Chicken And Rice Soup

Every year, right before the holidays, my church will put on some sort of fundraiser to get money together to help those that are less fortunate. Each time, we try and switch it up and do something different. When the even takes place in the winter time, there is usually some sort of indoor silent auction and dinner. This last time, we decided to do a soup cook off.

Everyone that wanted to come and sample the soups could, all they had to do was pay for a bowl. Those that wanted to make the soup to be sold could donate their best recipe. I did both.

I made chili, and then went in and sampled all the other dishes. One of my absolute favorites was the chicken and wild rice soup that Mrs. Janowik made.

It was so good in fact, I bought two bowls so I could take some home with me! It was just like this recipe from Spend with Pennies. Now that I know how easy it is to make on my own, I whip this together for my family all the time.
