I happened to stopped by my friend’s house right when she had made this beautiful-looking cake. Of course I thought it was one of those cakes that needed several steps of batter-making, baking and cooling to get those lovely layers done. Imagine my surprise when I found out I was wrong!
You only need to make one batter – that’s right, ONE! All the magic happens when you bake the cake in the oven. That’s when the batter separates into these wonderful layers.

Quick Tip: If the cake seems to brown too quickly in the oven, cover it with foil.
