I was on a roll a few days ago- I’ve been baking here and there, trying out recipes I haven’t tried yet. It was the first break I got this year from my job. I had a three-day off and I spent two days baking for my family. I mean seriously, our cookie jar has been empty for weeks now simply because I didn’t have the time to make anything. Even our fridge is empty- usually it has fudge or mousse in there courtesy of a craving of mine. Even my husband had teased me a few days ago: “No dessert for days? I’m surprised.”
To tease him back and to actually do something for my family, I woke up early during the first day of my off and invaded the kitchen. I love being in there; it gives me a sense of comfort that always make me feel better. I also love it when the kitchen starts smelling like heaven because of the sweets I’m making.
One of the sweet treats I made during my bake was this chocolate hazelnut torte. You will be surprised at how light this one is knowing that tortes are usually dense. I am encouraging you to try this fluffy and moist cake so you will see what I mean.
My family instantly loves this recipe, and I am sure yours will too. So you can grab a copy of this recipe on the next page.

Quick Tip: A light olive oil with a mild flavor could be a good start if you’re concerned about the flavor notes being too distinct.
