You Don’t Need To Pronounce This Clafoutis To Love It- You Just Need To Taste It

I am not too fond of fine dining. Don’t get me wrong- I love the food and the view and even the set-up. What I don’t like is dressing up and doing my hair so I will look proper enough for such a place. My husband knows this, which is why our dates are mostly at what I call “semi-formal” restaurants. That’s the best I can do, but of course I do know that it’s inevitable sometimes. I have to attend a lot of occasions that require me to dress up in formal evening gowns.

Speaking of formal evening gowns, my husband and I just attended a wedding. I was just happy that I wasn’t part of the entourage so I didn’t have to wear those long gowns the whole night. Still, I wore a long dress, which made me uncomfortable all night.

I enjoyed the food though. It wasn’t buffet style- the waiters brought the meals per table-which was the best thing that ever happened. The food was exquisite and I finally forgot about my dress.

There was something that caught my attention though- they served clafoutis for dessert. It’s been a long time since I was able to taste it. My husband gave me half of his clafoutis because he said I looked like I was ready for more.

I couldn’t forget about it in the next few days so I finally surrendered and made it for my family. It didn’t look as good as the one served at the wedding, but it tasted as great. The combination of flavors was to die for.

Quick Tip: You can use a blender or stand mixer to make the batter, but a big bowl, whisk, and some elbow grease work just fine.
