Are You Strong Enough To Handle This Chocolate Stout Cake?

Just recently, I was thinking about making a chocolate cake for the husband to bring to my brother-in-law. He would visit him to bring a few things their mother asked for him to bring to his brother, and I decided to make something special for the guy. He has always been my favorite brother-in-law and making something like cake was nothing when compared to the support he always shows us. My husband found it amusing that I needed to think hard about it, but all I thought was: “I want the cake to be macho.”

I don’t know about you, but when I was in college, a few of my guy friends didn’t want anything that would show they’re softies inside. They always wanted to show how tough they were and how cool they were. So I thought, bringing a sweet chocolate cake would be a bit… embarrassing to him.

Until I found this chocolate stout cake recipe. Adding Guiness to this chocolate cake recipe was the answer to that cool reputation I was talking about. So I made one and asked my husband to bring it with him.

I received a phone call a few hours later from my brother-in-law. He kept thanking me for the cake and was whining too- his dorm mates finished the cake in no time. I asked if he wanted me to send one again soon, and he said: “Yes, of course! And I don’t really care if it’s not a macho cake.”

Gotcha, brother-in-law.

Quick Tip: This cake really likes to stick in the bundt pan.  Do your absolute best to grease it well.
