While I always say that I love to experiment when it comes to food, that doesn’t extend to trying new spices. I am afraid of trying new spices, most especially if I’m not familiar with them. In the grocery, when I pass by the spice aisle, I just go to the ones I am familiar with. When I see something that I haven’t tried before, I just pass by it. A friend of mine told me that I’m missing a lot by not trying those spices in there. She told me to check out garam masala and look for recipes online that uses it.
I often see garam masala, it’s just that I don’t pick it up. So I researched and found out that it’s an Indian spice that can be used with other spices. It’s so flavorful that it will instantly change any dish.
I also found a slow cooker recipe using garam masala. I tried it, just once, to see if I can include it on my roster of food. I told myself that if my husband loved it, I will do just that.
And he loved it! He said he tasted a similar dish before and it’s been so long. He would love for me to cook it again for him soon.
So I guess that answered it. This chicken tikka masala recipe is now a part of my rotation of food for my family. The husband approves!
