Potatoes are staple in our home. My husband and I, we are pretty much obsessed with any dish that has potatoes as its main ingredient. Well, you are talking to someone who grew up eating her mother’s mashed potatoes; and the other one grew up eating roasted potatoes.
Most of the time, my husband and I find ourselves in excess of potatoes. The funny about it is that we crave for potato dishes at the same time, so when I buy potatoes, he brings home potatoes too. Because of that, we always need to think of different ways on how to cook them.
Mashed potatoes are always on the list, as long as pot roast is also on the list. French fries are also included if it’s a Friday night because Friday Night is Movie Night. Sometimes, we find ourselves craving for shepherd’s pie, and we cook just that.
Shepherd’s pie is a luxury food for me. It’s easy if you’re used to making it, but it’s a bit tricky to make. So you have to exert effort and time into making one.
If you don’t have the time to give, then you should try this shepherd’s pie soup instead. It has the taste of shepherd’s pie, but it’s lighter. And of course, a whole lot easier to make.
