My sons love this hot cocoa oatmeal recipe from Moms With Crockpots because I allow them to put their favorite toppings on top. You should see my boys go crazy over the chocolates and the marshmallows! And when i say boys, I mean all of my boys. And yes, that includes the husband who probably puts chocolate more than my twins combined.
One of our friends over at Moms With Crockpots has this to say about the recipe:
“This isn’t a daily breakfast at my house, but it is fun for a special treat on a cold day. I can imagine that this would be a perfect way to wake up on a snow day, or any day!”
Same with me! The usual breakfast in our house is usually more savory than sweet. But this hot cocoa oatmeal can be enjoyed once in a while!

Quick Tip: Use steel cut oats. They hold up the best in the crockpot. If you use quick oats or any other type of oat, you may end up with oat mush. You can find gluten free steel cut oats online and in stores.
Thanks again to Moms With Crockpots for this amazing recipe.
