Create Something Exotic For Dinner When You Make Asian-Apricot Glazed Pork Chops

If you’re a pork loin chop lover then this recipe is for you. It produces tender, juicy chops that will make you smile and say “yum, yum!” I love the fruity glaze on these pork chops. You get a clear taste of savory and sweet with every bite you take. My kids, who don’t typically like pork chops, really enjoyed these apricot glazed ones. I think this had a lot to do with the sweetness of the apricots.

I don’t care where or how this recipe originated because it is delicious!

Ingredients

4 boneless pork loin chops

1teaspoon Morton salt

1teaspoon black pepper

1teaspoon McCormick onion powder

1teaspoon garlic powder

1teaspoon ground ginger

1 large white onion

2 tablespoons cooking oil

3 garlic cloves (minced finely)

3cup apricot nectar

2cup Smuckers apricot preserves

2 tablespoons oyster sauce

2 tablespoons La Choy light soy sauce

Instructions

Chop onion.

Mix together the 1/4 tsp of salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and the Ginger.

Season loin chops with the spice mixture.

Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat, and add the 2 TBS of oil.

Brown the onion and the loin chops for approximately 5 minutes per side.

Mix together all the remaining ingredients in a bowl.

When loin chops are browned on both sides, add the sauce mixture.

Simmer on medium-low heat for approximately 15-20 minutes, until pork is done to an internal temperature of 170 degrees and sauce is reduced and thickened.

Taste sauce (say Yum) and add more pepper or soy sauce to taste, if desired.

Serve over steamed white rice.

Quick Tip: Experiment with different seasonings when you make these chops. I enjoy using teriyaki.
