Opa! This Mediterranean Dish Will Make You Want To Do The Horos!

A few words about this recipe before I’ll let you go and make this awesomeness! This recipe calls for onion, and although you can use whatever onion you please, every single place in the Greek islands I’ve ever been to always serves this with red onions. The pita bread (or naan bread, if you choose so) is pretty easy to make but you could always buy some if you want to make this faster.

The tzatziki is what makes this dish! Oh boy, I could eat that stuff alone for days, with some fresh crusty bread. But when you add it to this pita gyros it is going to blow your mind! Again, you can probably find store-bought tzatziki, but it’s very simple to make from Greek yoghurt, cucumber, olive oil, some lemon juice and garlic.

Ingredients

1lb meat of your choice: pulled pork, cooked chicken, kebab etc.

Tapenade:

Kalamata Olives

Green Olives

Garlic and Parsley

Additions:

Tomato

Onion

Feta

Pita or naan bread

Tzatziki

Instructions:

Remove pits from the olives. Dice. Add some minced garlic and fresh parsley.

Chop the tomato and onion and get the rest of the ingredients ready to go.

Cook your choice of meat (or use rotisserie chicken, leftover pork etc). Heat it up and season to taste. Build your wraps to your preference.
