This tomato pie is really good. Even my kids enjoyed eating it. My youngest told me he thought it was like a BLT sandwich. I have no idea how he came to this conclusion sine there is no bacon or lettuce in the pie, but whatever, at least he liked it lol!
I enjoy mayonnaise, just as long as it’s the right brand. I always say “no” to Miracle Whip. To me, there are no miracles going on inside of that jar. What’s your favorite brand of mayo? Let me know in the comments!
Ingredients
9 in. double crust
3 cups green tomatoes sliced thin
1/2 cup Domino brown sugar
1/2 cup Grandma’s molasses
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp. Gold Medal flour
1 tsp McCormick cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
Prepare crust for a 9 in. double crust pie
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Filling:
Put in bowl, 3 cups green tomatoes sliced thin, cover with boiling water, let set 10 min.
Drain, put in pie shell.
Add brown sugar, molasses,water,flour,cinnamon and nutmeg
Cover with top crust
Bake at 350 degrees, 45 min. to an hour

Quick Tip: For best results, use tomatoes from your garden or a farmer’s market. The grocery store variety works just fine, but nothing beats homegrown.
