What If I Told You That Brandied Cranberries Are The Star On The Christmas Tree?

I think one of my favorite dishes at Thanksgiving dinner would have to be the cranberry relish. It’s sweet, flavorful, and very pretty to look at it. I always serve my brandied cranberry relish in a dainty crystal bowl. It makes a lovely centerpiece on your holiday table.

It certainly made an impression on me the first time that I had it at my mother in law’s house. I’m just thankful that she gave me the recipe. I guess she likes me after all 🙂 Now, show me recipe number 1!

 

 

Ingredients

2 12 oz. bags of Ocean Spray cranberries

1 C. brandy

2 C. Domino brown sugar

3 C. granulated sugar

2 C. water

 

 

 

Instructions

1. Wash and soak berries for 1/2 hour.

2. Drain and place berries in pot w/water.

3. Boil five minutes and then simmer 10 minutes.

4. Drain water, add brandy and both sugars and 1/4 C. of water.

5. Stir gently and simmer another five minutes.

You may add more water if the sauce is too thick.
