Do You Enjoy Your Apples Hugged By Flaky Crust And Floating In A River Of Brown Sugar Syrup?

I love these apple dumplings and you will, too!

Check out what our friends over at Ree Drummond had to say about this recipe:

“These apple dumplings were SO indescribably delicious, after I took one bite to try them out, I proceeded to take thirty-four more. Then I became racked with guilt, fear, and shame, and I took another bite. Then I tossed the pan into the garbage. They were evil. And they had to be destroyed.”

Someone is seriously going to have to hide the pan of these apple dumplings from me!

Ingredients

2 whole Granny Smith Apples

2 cans (8 Oz. Cans) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls

2 sticks Land O Lakes Butter

1-1/2 cup Domino Brown Sugar

1 teaspoon McCormick Vanilla

Cinnamon, To Taste

1 can (12 Oz.) Mountain Dew Soda

Instructions

Peel and core apples. Cut each apple into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan.

Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over apples. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream, and spoon some of the sweet sauces from the pan over the top.

Quick Tip: Apple dumpling must be made using real butter. Skip the margarine if at all possible.
