Bountiful Bean And Bacon Soup – It’s Yummy In Your Tummy!

When fall and winter come rearing around I always get my soup recipes pout. Why? Because I live in Pennsylvania and it’s cold, that’s why. However, I am not a PA native and originally grew up in Michigan.

So, I have to say that these PA winters are nothing compared to a Great Lakes winter. We are talking subzero temperatures, my friends. But, that’s okay, it just gave me lots of reasons to make and eat a variety of soups.

This bean and bacon soup is seriously flavorful and when served piping hot, tastes like a bowl full of good dreams and happy thoughts. It is very easy to make and your whole family will enjoy it, I promise!

My children do not typically like bean soup but with the addition of bacon they made an exception. I was actually a little shocked by this because they are very picky eaters. My oldest daughter said, “Mom, what did you do differently to this soup, it actually tastes good this time.”

I don’t know if I should take this as a compliment or what. Oh well, at least they liked the soup and that’s all that really matters anyway, yes?

Quick Tip: Don’t add the bacon to the soup until the liquid is rapidly boiling. This helps the meat to stay firmer.
