Country Fried Steak – Southern Comfort Food

Have you ever wanted something to eat that is just plain old comfort food? Well, folks, you’ve found it here – and oh, what a recipe this one is! This recipe for Country fried steak is a southern staple in terms of comfort food.

It is easy to make and tastes amazing. This is a meal that your entire family will enjoy sitting down too – and don’t worry about your picky eaters. They will be going for seconds, for sure!

As far as southern foods go, this would have to be on my top five list of favorites. I like to serve my country fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, a steamed veggie like carrots or green beans, and applesauce.

I have a ton of applesauce that I canned last fall due to our enormous apple tree in the backyard who has been very good to us with a bountiful harvest this year. Do you enjoy canning fruits and vegetables?

Quick Tip: Use milk instead of water to moisten your chicken. It helps the breading turn out a whole lot crunchier.
