Richard Nixon Would Have Loved The “Cover-Up” Frosting On This Cake

Who would have ever imagined that something good could come out of the Watergate scandal? Well, folks, we ended up with this cake, and at the end of the Day, Richard Nixon is giving us his seal of approval. This cake is even complete with “cover-up” frosting. Now, how creative is that? I simply adore this cake because it is whimsical, tastes fabulous, and is super easy to concoct. I have made Watergate cake a few times. Once, I took it to a church potluck and everyone in attendance loved it. It got some laughs, was a great conversation piece, and was eaten quicker than Richard Nixon could say, “I am not a crook.”

I love this cake for its nostalgic appeal. It is probably something that our grandmothers would have served, but hey, sometimes the classics are the best, right? I highly recommend you make this cake for yourself.

Quick Tip: Pistachio pudding makes the best green cake, but if you prefer, you may use vanilla with green food coloring.
