Barbecue in the Oven–Guilty Pleasure Made Easy

I wouldn’t recommend having this every day, but as a once in a while indulgence, when you need something filling and easy to make, it’s a good go-to. If you want to fancy it up a bit, you could try adding some diced tomatoes or bell pepper to the mix.

It’s delicious as-is but makes for a nice template for cooks who like to experiment with different flavors! Feel free to let us know in the comments below, if you end up making your own version of this!

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

½ chopped onion

¾ cup barbecue sauce

Tabasco sauce to taste

1 large can refrigerated biscuits

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375 and spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.

Cook ground beef until it begins to brown, and then add onion. Cook until beef is fully browned. Add in Tabasco and BBQ sauce.

Lay biscuits in a single layer in the baking dish. Top with beef mixture. Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over all.

Bake until biscuits are cooked and cheese is melted, about 20 minutes. Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Quick Tip: If hot sauce turns you off, but you are worried about the casserole being a bit bland, consider adding in a little garlic powder or a modest helping of your favorite milder spice blend.
